ISLAMIC AWARNESS WEEK

The DCU Islamic Society has been working with other societies, FOSIS, the SU and neighbouring ISocs to present IAW or Islamic Awareness Week.

Islamic Awareness Week is a national annual event that is organised by Islamic Societies (ISOCs) either within the university community on campus or within the wider local community. The aims of the week are to raise awareness and spread the message of Islam (da’wah) to non-Muslims in particular. Many societies use this opportunity to clear misconceptions, generate collaborations with other societies and to educate a generation of students on Islam. A university is an enriching platform for understanding and it can be through events like these that a positive impact can occur.

This week is all about helping and uniting the DCU community to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters. It’s the greatest week of the year where Islamic societies, Schools, Universities and community associations across the country join up to raise money for orphans and needy children around the world. DCU WE NEED YOU!

We also have a Speaker from UK, Adam Deen, a TV presenter and intellectual activist coming over to join us on Thursday 29th of October.

He will be speaking on the "Philosophy of Miracles and the Quran "at 1pm on the 29th of October in the Venue and "God Delusion?" at 6.15pm on the same day in T101.

So come join us during this Amazing WEEK and make a difference to children's lives at the same time.

(All proceedings will go to Islamic Relief, a secular charity that helps people of all races, cultures and backgrounds solely for the purpose of serving humanity. Verse of the Day

Say: "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from": Join not anything with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to indecent deed f9b s. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom. 6:151
